Veena Malik, Asad Bashir have a 'Ramazan gift' for fans

The husband-wife duo have recorded a hamd with famous qawwal Sher Miandad Khan Fareedi

Veena Malik had announced that she's devoting herself to Islam, and she's starting with her Ramazan transmission and... a song.

The TV host has done the vocals for a devotional song, or hamd, which she says is "a gift for her viewers in Ramazan."

She is joined by hubby Asad Bashir on the track, as well as famous qawwal Sher Miandad Khan Fareedi.

The idea for this collaboration came to producer Qaisar Nadeem, who approached Asad Bashir.

"In school, I used to recite naats and hamd," recalls Bashir. "When Qaiser bhai told me that Sher Miandad will be involved, and Veena as well, I thought it'd be an opportunity for me to work with Sher Miandad sahab and this is a chance I should not miss."

Veena Malik recollected her discussion with Bashir on the matter, "He told me, 'I have this brilliant concept. Qaiser sahab discussed with me that Khan sahab, you and me will read a Hamd together.'"

She was ecstatic to be a part of this project, "I was thrilled and said 'of course, please arrange a meeting.'"

The video for the Hamd will be recorded soon and this is a first of many such projects that are to take place in the future.

Well done Mr and Mrs. Asad - :) @ Muneeb .. If you can't give any positive comments please keep your negative comments to yourself. People are infallible;no-one is perfect. As long as she has repented its her and Allah's affair now and as a country-men and her islamic brother you are suppose to be protecting her and supporting her.

When I read the headline, I thought oh good the story would be that the gift is that they will leave us all alone, but alas, this particular Ramadan wish did not come true. Sad.

@Muneeb Not nice. Only Allah knows their neeyat. She doesn't need acceptance from this temporal world, only from Allah.

To everyone who is doubting her intentions, you have no right to judge her. She only needs to earn acceptance from Allah, and not from people like us

how come devoting to Islam equates with starting a tv transmission for commercial purpose.
