The split between Hollywood couple Johnny Depp and Amber Heard turned out to be no ordinary divorce, as Heard was granted her request for a temporary restraining order against the Pirates of the Caribbean star, whom she alleges has been abusive throughout their 15-month marriage. A Los Angeles judge ordered Depp to stay away - and not contact - his wife, reports BBC.

Heard, who filed for a divorce from Depp citing irreconcilable differences on Monday, produced pictures in court on Friday as evidence of the abuse, which showed her with a bruised eye and cheek. According to BBC, Heard's face clearly showed injuries when she lodged her complaint in court yesterday.

In her complaint, Heard alleges, "During the entirety of our relationship, Johnny has been verbally and physically abusive to me."

"Johnny has had a long-held and widely-acknowledged public and private history of drug and alcohol abuse," her declaration states. "He has a short fuse."

About the most recent incident of abuse on last Saturday, she had said that Depp was high on drugs and drunk when the incident occurred, and that he had thrown his iPhone at her. pulled her hair, screamed at her, grabbed her face and hit her.

She wanted the restraining order to apply to her dog, Pistol, but the judge ruled against it, saying there was "insufficient showing of need to protect the dog."

"I live in fear that Johnny will return to (our house) unannounced to terrorise me, physically and emotionally,'' Heard also wrote.

However, when the LA police visited Heard's home on the night of the latest incident, they found no evidence of Amber Heard's injuries, reports Mirror UK.

Sources close to Depp are refuting the report, with some noting that she has posted on Instagram since the alleged incident with no signs of injury.

Depp is currently in Portugal with his band Hollywood Vampires. His lawyer claiming that Heard's abuse allegations were made with the intent to hasten the financial resolution of their divorce and her demand for spousal support.

Depp's fans were clearly disappointed by the attorney's statements:
