Khoobsurat fans, take heart. Fawad may star opposite Sonam in Anil Kapoor's Battle for Bittora after all.
After making his Bollywood debut in the Khoobsurat remake with Sonam Kapoor, there was a strong rumour that Fawad will be seen opposite the actress again in the comedy her father is producing. However, it was soon reported that he's backed out of the film due to his reluctance to perform intimate scenes.
It turns out that isn't exactly the case. While talking to PTI, Fawad said, "It was more of a matter of time-lines not being able to match than anything else. So Battle of Bittora is something we are yet to sit down and talk. I am yet to hear the updated draft of the film."
"The first draft was there but they were wanting to revisit the draft. But by the time that happened Sonam was already doing Neerja. I was also committing to other things," he added.
He further said that he has "lots of love and respect for the Kapoors, Sonam and Rhea, they are like family."
While all hope's not lost, fans should remember that other actors are also being considered for the role.
"They are also looking at other actors," Fawad clarified. "I am not the only option so let's see what happens. It's an interesting story though." It is said that Bhaag Milkha Bhaag actor Faran Akhtar was also being considered for the role.
Fawad, who will be next seen in Shakun Batra's Kapoor & Sons, also said he wants to be known as a global actor, not just one of the Indian film industry. He will soon be seen in a cameo in Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, and is also starring in the Alamgir biopic, Albela Rahi, being produced in Pakistan.
