Upcoming rom-com Balu Mahi has upped its star quotient with a special musical cameo.

The Haissam Hussain-directed film, which stars Osman Khalid Butt and Ainy Jafri, will also briefly feature Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. The popular singer will, of course, do what he does best: sing a qawwali.

"Singing a qawwali, in itself, is quite a task. I did, however, improvise where I had to," he spoke to Images about his appearance in Balu Mahi.

He was all praise for the qawwali he's sung for the film:

"It has been some time since a filmmaker realised the essence of qawwali. I'm very impressed with the entire team of Balu Mahi and as always Sahir Ali Bagga has created something special," Rahat said.

Often spotted in opulent eastern wear, Rahat says he leaves his wardrobe decisions to his manager to handle:

"I'm lucky that my manager Salman Ahmed takes care of all aspects of my work, including the design of the clothes of my whole group."
