Deepika and Vin Diesel's 'xXx' gets release date
Deepika Padukone will officially earn the title of Hollywood actress early next year, when her debut film xXx: The Return of Xander Cage releases in cinemas on January 20, 2017, reports Deadline .
The release date was announced by Paramount Pictures, which signed on to distribute this third installment of the xXx franchise last week.
The film, in which Deepika stars opposite Vin Diesel, is currently under production with DJ Caruso at the helm. Samuel L Jackson, Ruby Rose, Nina Dobrev, Donnie Yen, Conor McGregor, and Tony Jaa also star in the film.
The film marks the Vin Diesel's return to the xXx franchise after he sat out the sequel, 2005’s xXx: State Of The Union, which starred Ice Cube. In the new flick, Cage comes out of exile and takes on a deadly alpha warrior Xiang in pursuit of an unstoppable weapon known as Pandora’s Box. Deepika stars as a feisty huntress named Serena.
The movie will be up against M Night Shyamalan's horror movie Split and Sullivan Stapletom thriller The Lake on January 20.
