Ranbir Kapoor will star as the anti-hero in Ayan Mukerji's ambitious superhero trilogy

Ranbir Kapoor's future projects include Wake Up Sid director Ayan Mukerji's superhero trilogy - and Mukerji has been taking notes from Deadpool for Ranbir's anti-hero character.

Mukerji arranged for a private screening of the film's uncensored version in Mumbai, reports Mumbai Mirror.

"Ayan had put in a request a week ago for a private screening of the uncut version. He has been scripting his own superhero film and was keen to watch Deadpool," reveals a source from the production house.

Ranbir's character in Mukerji's film is called The Dragon, "a dark anti-hero plagued by his emotions and a growing disdain for things around him, much like Deadpool."

But there is one key difference between Deadpool and The Dragon: "Ayan's story won't follow a crusader trying to change the world," the source said.

His superpowers will include unleashing fire from his palms, it was also revealed.

The film featuring The Dragon is the first of three projects that Mukerji has planned for the coming decade. Ranbir has been the director's lucky charm as the star of his directorial debut in 2009, Wake Up Sid, and the successful follow-up, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani four years later.

Mukerji hopes to start shooting their third film together after Ranbir wraps up work on Rajkumar Hirani's Sanjay Dutt biopic in late 2016.

Ranbir Kapoor has to be careful in picking movies now, as he had three flops in a row, Tamasha, Roy and Bombay Velvet.

Just like Ali Zaffar, he is also an actor in himself. He is acting when he sleeps, wakes up, goes around, being with friends, on the set etc etc.
