It's happening: Shah Rukh Khan to romance Alia Bhatt in upcoming film

The film will begin shooting in January 2016, tweeted producer Karan Johar

If Shah Rukh Khan is young (at heart) enough to gallivant on a glacier with Kajol in Dilwale, then perhaps no eyebrows should be raised at the romance that will unfold in one of his next films.

The 50-year-old actor will romance young Alia Bhatt, who is almost a good three decades his junior, in English Vinglish director Gauri Shinde's next, reports Indian Express.

SRK's role in the film is that of an extended cameo, says this IANS report, and the film's three male leads will be newcomers.

In his special appearance, SRK will have Alia Bhatt as his love interest, but theirs will be an unconventional romance, said the director.

The film, which was rumoured to be stalled due to creative differences between Shinde and producer Karan Johar, will go on the floors in January.

This is a shame, first Salman Khan with Soman Kapoor and now Shahrukh with Alia Bhatt, I think both of these folks are old enough to play their father's role.

Nothing new, it's a trend in Indian movies since long. The south Indian movies are all comprises of 50-60 year old hero with 20-30 heroine. I would like to reverse the situation and see how much audience accept a 50-60 women with 20-30 hero romancing her. I know even the idea is gross for our society but why double standards?

SRK is a kind of guy who will keep on playing a lover boy even at the age of 80. That's all he knows. That's all he has ever done.

Why is the age a big deal? It happens all the time in Hollywood and no one complaints so why complaining about Bollywood actor?

@Saad it is not gross actually. People grow up. Hema Malinin looks good even now. Women don't turn 'gross' when they age. In fact, I would like to see that too. But, the fact is that our society makes women too conscious of their age. Kate winslet gave a splendid performance in The reader showing her true age with a much younger actor. Love from across the border.

Come on folks, directors check the pulse of audience and then decide, and SRK is most saleable commodity, so why not.

@shdhsn Oh! well, Saif ali Khan married some one who was a small child during his first marriage, Some people are marrying women 50 years younger to them so these guys are ok. Honestly, Alia Bhatt looks good when paired with Hritik Roshan
