Imran-Reham split up, and everyone had something to say about it

Imran-Reham split up, and everyone had something to say about it

While some commented on the matter with appropriate seriousness, others weren't as sensible..
Updated 30 Oct, 2015

Imran and Reham Khan have remained one of Pakistan's most-talked-about couples throughout their marriage and now divorce.

While some commented on the end of their marriage with appropriate seriousness...

...others wondered what the fuss was about:

Some took away a life lesson...

...while the rest did some number-crunching:

Some came to realise that the show is indeed over...

...but others couldn't help but celebrate IK's renewed singlehood:

Read more: Istakhara to Bani Gala: Reham spills the beans on Imran's unromantic proposal

Of course, there was plenty of punning:

And the celebs also weighed in...

Hira Tareen called out the misogynistic media coverage of the divorce...

Imran Abbas also sent out words of wisdom to his fan following:

Angeline Malik was suitably sympathetic:

"When two people come together, it's always a reason to celebrate, but when that union breaks, it's always sad. Whatever reason it may be, it is always bad news. My sympathies are with both of them," she said to Images.

But Adeel Hashmi had a completely different kind of two cents to share:

"@AdeelHashmi3: She could've had her name written in history. Instead she decided to be a mere footnote," he tweeted

...and was (appropriately) bashed for it:

Fasi Zaka shared an earthquake metaphor:

It's 21st century for goodness sake, people get married for all the right reasons and sometimes things don't work out and it's best for all concerned to separate and try their luck elsewhere! What's the big deal?

It is very sad news and must be devastating for both, especially Imran Khan because he got a lot more to lose from this episode. This marriage can be portrayed as a case of flawed judgement by his opponents. I hope he is able to refocus on his political career because Pakistan is benefiting from having an honest and outspoken leader like him on the stage.

Money and fame trumps old age anytime he will have a beeline for takers hopes he picks using his better judgement like the 92 World Cup team and rejects gold diggers and fame seekers who want to ride his coat-tails Jemima was his intellectual equal and was not a gold digger as she was many times richer then he and thus was not a gold digger I think he needs to compromise because if he is looking for gold he might unearth fools gold instead

I am really sorry for Reham but Imran has proved himself being not a family man. He had married against the wishes of his family and now, he has failed to get along with his passion about children because he had said he had married Reham because of her wonderful ways of raising children of good manners. Already, he has his political divorce of Hashmi to explain and now already there are news about Shah Mehmud Qureshi also having bad blood with him. What really is his real nature?

Great leaders are careful, judicious, committed and serious in personal matters as well. Imran is behaving more like a hollywood personality and less like a leader of a conservative people. And he projects himself to be a "leader with a vision". His action is no where close to any great leader. This behaviour is totally unbecoming of person who dreams to be the next prime minister of the country. He had numerous affairs during his illustrious career as a cricketer. Then he married a white lady which was totally unacceptable to the pakistani society. When he realized that his political career wouldn't fly unless he got rid of her, he divorced her. Next he married this local lady assuming that it will give him widespread acceptance in the country. The marriage ended up in a disasterin just 10 months. So much for his personal life, but is this what the pakistani society expect of a person who wishes to lead the country?

Quite a shocking news. I wouldn't call it poking nose into personal matter. All public figures go through this. When people love them they want to share both good and bad of lives of their heroes. Imran Khan is a public figure internationally. But we should not blame one person in this kind of situation , without knowing the story of both sides. Even the true story will not help , because it is all about chemistry not the story.

It is not a private matter. How much notice public takes of thousands of divorces that take place daily. A politician, that too of Imrans stature is a public property and all his action need to be thoroughly scrutinized. It turns out Imran does not speak the truth. Only few weeks back he denied any rumors about his troubling marriage whereas the reality was opposite. A leader of national stature , Imran thus revealed his faultline of credibility gap.

Misery loves company and only when one is miserable himself/herself, will they make such comments - to me, I say congratulations for knowing soon enough that you are not compatible and good luck to both of you in your future endeavors.

Only couple of days back I read a well written article in your newspaper: Pakistanis obsession with divorce, forgot the name of the author. The article reflected the feelings of people of Pakistan who have chosen to comment on the IK and RK split. Understandably it was devastating for a woman to get a divorce in the feudal society where she was totally dependent on man. Although not completely Pakistan is no longer a feudal society. Lot more girls in Pakistan are acquiring education and becoming independent and no longer dependent on man. People get married and divorced and move on. I recall a film song; Tu nahee aur sahee aur nahee aur sahee.

I think the very idea of getting married to Imran Khan was more than the simple desire to marry him. The desire also seems to be a part of Imran Khan's expected broader future assignments. For Imran Khan if he wanted an educated women to be his house wife then he should not have selected a seasoned carrier oriented women. It was too much to expect Reham Khan to remain in home & cook food for her husband, she needed an identity of her own as wife of IK & the possibility of being first women. Should IK decide in future to marry again he should not opt for a carrier women rather he should search for a soulmate.

I want to say that Imran and Reham's story was a personal matter. No one has a right to discussed and involved anyone personal life. Because the husband and wife relation is very soft, precious and strong relation. if anyone understand of such relation i think nobody will be involved and disclose the others personal matters. Plz just involve and discussed own life and try to become the best for society. So that the peoples knowing to you as "such person is a great". plz dont involve and dont passed any kind of comments to anyone's personal life. If you will do then you will be ready to face such problems in future.
