Sania Mirza treats ‘Dilwale’ crew to special biryani!

The ace tennis player sent Hyderabadi Biryani to the entire unit of Dilwale ahead of Eid celebrations
24 Sep, 2015

Is there anything that Sania Mirza can’t do? The ace tennis player doesn’t only outshine with her racket, but is just as good when it comes to making what we all love: biryani!

This time, the delicious Hyderabadi Biryani wasn’t made solely for hubby Shoaib Malik; Sania treated the entire cast and crew of Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale to her amazing culinary skills, reported Indian Express.

Sania, who won US Open doubles title earlier this month, had sent biryani for the entire unit where stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Farah Khan, Varun Dhawan were present too! However, it seemed that Varun forgot to send his compliments to the chef when he took to Twitter and thanked Farah Khan instead.

Farah Khan was quick to correct him, though:

Shetty’s Dilwale, which will mark the comeback of Bollywood’s much loved on-screen couple Shahrukh Khan and Kajol, is set to release on December 18 this year.

Proud of her ! For all those pakistani gentlemen and women who comment or think that there is huge bias or marginalization of minorities in India, this is something to ponder. We have had achievers in every field who are from minority (which by the way is second largest population of muslims, even more than Pakistan). I am from the same city where she grew up. She was spotted as a talent by the well known industrialist and supported by across the board coaches, players and sponsors and most of them were from Majority community. She flourished in India and is a way forward looking girl. She would not have flourished as well in pakistan despite being a muslim. She is now a national award winner and a brand ambassador of a state.

She is such a lovely brilliant girl. Long may she remain the queen of Indian Tennis. Such an inspiration to youngsters and a role model. Narrow minded Indians may feel miffed because she was married off to a Pakistani cricketer who, incidentally, is such nice man and a sportsman. But she is her own person and an ultra India nationalist and admired by majority of people in both countries. She is more Indian than most Indians, a brand ambassador for a large state and decorated & recognised by her India government. Maybe Pakistan should give her recognition too like we did thespian Dilip Kumar. And Raj Kapoor? I'm not sure about Raj Kapoor.

@Gurpreet Singh Sabharwal (USA) /Shoaib is not a pauper either-he has made enough money and continues to do so by playing for various leagues around the world and of course for Pakistan. He may not be a superstar, but an all-round star player for a long time. He has been captain of Sialkot Stallions who have won multiple national championships. Further, he was captain of Pakistan team, much before he met her and got married. However, that is not the point-they met, liked each other and got married.

Have tried traditional Indian Hyderabadi Biryani which a neighbor's grandmother made from an old family recipe which was from the Nizam of Hyderabad's household. It was a bit too spicy for me, as I prefer the traditional lamb or beef biryani made by my Khala who's in laws have roots in UP, India. Actually biryani was never known of in Lahore or Punjab until immigrants from Delhi and UP, India brought it over to Karachi which then spread to all of Pakistan.

The biryani in the Indian Hyderabad is as best as it gets. It even beats the Lukhnowi biryani. Eating in restaurants is okay. But going to a Muslim home and eating it beats everything

I think all of you all have some serious issues! For all I know love sees no border, religion, cast, creed or colour. I'm an Indian born and bought up in India. Studying in US and my girlfriend is from Pakistan. We been going strong for the last 3 years. Living in the Bay Area. I don't think our parents had or have any issues. So y'all can shut it and get a life. When the world has learnt to move, y'all still stuck in that age old stigma. Get outta this bigotry. Look at life in a brighter perspective. For the record I'm a Hindu from chennai. If that makes things more interesting.

@Gurpreet Singh Sabharwal (USA) - ZAK made a daft comment about "good choice to become wife of Pakistani", but your comment isnt any better. Shoaib has made plenty as a cricketer ( sorry you may not know as Cricket is hardly played in the USA) . He's played and captained Pakistan as well as in leagues in other countries. They both look good together, regardless of which nation they are from and they both earn their own,

@Shaukat Please read my statement carefully, I am referring about traditional biryani with lamb/beef and saffron - not known of in Punjab/Lahore until much later after Pakistan's creation. FYI, biryani from Delhi and UP is the most traditional style eaten in Karachi which originated from pre-partition areas - and obviously cities and states ruled by the Mughals. You obviously are not from Lahore or Pakistan Punjab or you would know what I'm referring to. Perhaps as an Indian you are not aware of these foodie facts about Karachi or Lahore.
