Gone are the days when Pakistanis obsessed about teams from the Indian Premier League (IPL) -- our very own Pakistan Super League (PSL) is here to take that place.

The League is all set to be launched in a ceremony tonight which will be not only be attended by the cricket greats but also our very own celebrities.

Ali Zafar and Strings will be showcasing the League’s anthem and the ceremony is to be attended by stars like Mahira Khan, Fawad Khan, Iman Ali, Humaima Malick, Ayesha Omer and Umair Jaswal to name a few.

Here is what they’re saying about the highly awaited League which has been in the works since 2013.

Ali Zafar’s studio geared up to record the anthem’s chorus:

Expected to take off in February next year, PSL comprises of T20 matches to be played between five teams. It's expected that matches will be played in the UAE or Qatar; though it is hoped that some matches will also be scheduled in Pakistan. The details regarding venues will be finalised later this month.

The teams, Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta will have a 16-member squad including four foreign nationals.

Although all foreign players are yet to be revealed here are a few names to spike all cricket lovers' interest: Martin Guptill and Grant Elliot from New Zealand, TM Dilshan, Lasith Malinga, Angelo Mathews and Thisara Perera from Sri Lanka, Christopher Henry Gayle, Kieron Pollard, Dwayne Bravo, Sunil Narine and Samuel Badree from West Indies and Robin Peterson, Chris Morris, Richard Levi from South Africa.

The ambassadors for PSL are none other than legendary players like Sultan of Swing Wasim Akram and ace commentator, Ramiz Raja.

Very nice line "Ab khel ke dikha". And very true that gone are the days when Pakistan players wanted to play in IPL. I meant IPL which is famously a heaven for match-fixers now

Why couldn't they get Morgan, Moeen Ali, McCullum, Maxwell and Styen on board? These are surely some of the best in T20 format. And while playing in Qatar it should not have been a problem.

@Rashid Ishaq I am from Pakistan Rashid. And I fear that we will end up with far bigger issues with this league if we don't monitor and police everything. Lets hope we don't go down this path.
