Sonam Kapoor takes us on a stroll down memory lane
Updated 20 Sep, 2015

Khoobsurat holds a special place in our hearts for catapulting hearthrob export Fawad Khan to new heights in India, where he stood among the leading men of B-Town!

Fawad, who is immensely popular in Pakistan, stepped into Bollywood and returned home with the prestigious Filmfare film award for Best Male Debut.

With a year to Khoobsurat complete this weekend, actor Sonam Kapoor took her fans on a stroll down memory lane, sharing moments from the film and its shoot:

For a brief moment, the film brought both nations together, and although Sonam could not attend the premiere here, she did come accompany Fawad to the Wagah border:

Before Fawad, actors like Javed Sheikh, Ali Zafar, Imran Abbas, Humaima Malik andMeera have also tried to make a name for themselves but apart from perhaps Ali Zafar and Javed Sheikh, the rest had fallen flat.

So yes just like Qurbaani (1980) for Nazia Hasan's 'Aap Jaisa Koi' holds a special place in our industry so does Khoobsurat for its larger than life khoobsurat memories.

@Harthik - You're right. He is a much better actor than the Khan's Bollywood has to offer. Seriously, you ever seen Sharukh Khan's pathetic attempt at crying? Sheesh! And he's the top actor.

I liked the last picture very much. With all smiling and India and Pakistan written on the same border marking stone.

We wish more India Pakistan collaborations in entertainment sports and trade. But extremists in Pakistan and India don't want it.

@Harthik - and that is precisely why, 80 years on, Bollywood is where it is (but with more revealing clothes), while Hollywood propels humankind's imagination to greater and greater heights!

Pakistanis may not like this but to be honest, he is the most over-hyped Pakistani actor to have ever crossed the border. His acting at best looks average and he is no where in the league of talented Indian new comers like Ranbir Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Siddhartha Malhotra, Tiger Shroff, Suraj Pancholi who are good in dancing, acting and action. Sooner than later he will bite the dust like many Pakistanis of yester years. Ali Zafar in comparison is more talented and less hyped.
