FIZZA ABBAS

Fizza Abbas is a journalist, poet, and author from Karachi. She writes on gender, culture, social issues, law, and international affairs for The Guardian, Dawn, Oxford Review of Books, The Diplomat, Open Global Rights, and The Times of India, among others. She is the winner of the Waterford Poetry Competition 2025, a Best of the Net nominee, and a finalist for the Oxford Brookes International Poetry Competition 2021. Her work has also been longlisted for the Propel Cambridge Poetry Prize 2026 and shortlisted as a finalist in the Rough Diamond Poetry Contest 2026. She is the author of Bakho, Ool Jalool, and The Lament of Sunken Ships (Gumroad). She currently works as Lead Strategist at TrancePixel Marketing during the day and runs her indie press, BLIMP, with her husband by night.
