Pakistan's favourite rock band, Junoon, has reunited after 15 years for the Sooper Junoon World Cup anthem, and we can't help but tap our feet to it.

We think ‘Choolein Aasmaan / Badlain Jahan’ is a beautiful ode to inclusivity, identifying and weaving together various segments of the Pakistani society.

Here's what we think makes the anthem worth all the views it's getting online:

1. The song holds a beautiful patriotic vibe

We feel the video ably reinforces the underlying message of Sooper's World Cup campaign: unity and strength in diversity.

Side note: We feel Ali Azmat's pakola-green aviators are hard to miss.

2. The anthem brings everyone together for a patriotic celebration

With its core idea being #SooperHaiPooraPakistan, ‘Choolein Aasmaan / Badlain Jahan’ features various marginalised groups of Pakistanis; highlighted with great emphasis are members of the trans community, religious minorities and people with disabilities, all coming together to cheer team Pakistan on.

3. The beat is catchy, the enthusiasm contagious

We feel Ali Azmat's vocals give a catchy ring to the song, and that's what makes it the it cricket anthem of the season.

We've got to admit this comeback track makes us all want to pull out our cricket jerseys and truly go green.

I like the fact Pak songs are bringing religious minorities into them as well. This is what Pak ideology stood for under Jinnah and with the world turning on its minoroties Pak must carry the torch.

It's not a great song, but the video and the message are absolutely superb. Pakistan's strength is in its diversity, and it's wonderful to see people of all backgrounds being represented. Clearly many Pakistanis feel the same way, hence the high number of views...

Can we have an honest review instead of a paid partnership advertisement? Images seems to have stopped reviewing music unless it's Coke Studio. The industry is in its demise and the media seems to be contributing to it.
