Mikaal Zulfiqar has charmed everyone for years with his boy next door looks and hit dramas; now, the actor's ready to change gears and hit the silver screen big time.

The Diyar-e-Dil star will be appearing in director Jamal Sheikh's Ae Dil Meray Chal Re alongside Javed Sheikh, Jawed Bashir, models Sana Sarfaraz and Sarah Sarfaraz as well as first-timer Salman Haider, among others.

"It's a feel-good romantic comedy, a family entertainment film. I play the role of a supermodel; there's lots of different characters so there's something for everyone," shares Zulfiqar who is also one of the producers of the movie.

Talking to Images, Sana Sarfaraz reveals details about her role in the upcoming flick, "It's about a career-oriented girl who also has a slightly disturbed family and about how her perception of things changes when she gets to know the importance of family."

Her sister, Sarah also added what her character will be like: "I play the role of this very modern, outspoken girl from a rich family. Sana and I are playing sisters in the movie also so I'm really excited about the project, working with her will be great because she's my support system so I couldn't have asked for a better debut project."

Ae Dil Meray Chal Re will be shot in Islamabad and Lahore and has been written and conceived by Awais Hussain and Salman Haider. Mikaal also revealed that there are a few situational songs in the movie as well as a dance number or two but no item number. The movie is expected to release next year.

Pakistani film producers need to develop their own actors who the TV drama viewers don't see usually. TV and film acting may require somewhat similar skills, but somehow they are not supposed to be same actors in both genre. Shaan, Ali Zafar, Iman Ali, Fawad Khan, and few others should reserve themselves for films only. Thats one of the ways to establish the film industry in Pakistan.

@Fudayl Z. Ahmad I think Fawad Khan, Shan, Mahira, Ali Zafar, Mehwish Hayat, Sohai Ali Abro, Humayun Saaed, Fahad Mustafa, Mawra Hocane and Saba Qamar should reserve themselves for movies only. They all look good on the big screen as films are totally different from TV dramas and require a certain different type of acting, persona and screen presence which every other TV actor does not have no matter how great they are on television.
