I have tasted both Indian and Pakistani versions of those foods which can also be found across the border. The Pakistani ones have a distinct taste of their own. Indians tend to over spice their dishes whereas the Pakistani ones are more on the greasy side but definitely they both taste different.

Samosa chaat is a travesty of innovation in food. It is an assault on a purist's senses. Someone has destroyed the essence of both items and produced a confused mash with no aligning characteristics. It brings both items down in value, a match made in trash can probably. Cease and desist from projecting it as a legitimate 'dish'!

@Krishna (in a ligher mood) Modi needs heart transplant to soften towards Pakistan. What yummy food! Lip smacking, mouth watering. Kashmiri tea in the end , during winters, would be like icing on the cake.

Beautiful n mouth watering food reminds me of home. Dawn has the habit of teasing its overseas readers from time to time. But pity at looking at these dishes is the presentation n photography of these lovely food could be improved and the containers a bit better looking.

For some reason I always find that Pakistani food is best cooked in house rather than at restaurants. I guess it is down to the fact that Pakistani food requires lots of patience and attention to detail which can not be done properly by restaurant.

I am really looking forward to eating these delicacies. What about Pakistan promoting "Foodie's Tourism" targeting mainly neighboring country. This can create lots of local employment and as well create foodie constituency across the border. Road to neighbors heart could be through good food.
