The teaser for Faysal Quraishi’s next film, Mango Jutt, is out and before you see the actual video, we’d like you to picture it for a second.

Think of the craziest Bollywood action scene, something like Salman Khan pushing off a whole gang of thugs by force of his upper back alone or Ajay Devgn single-handedly — as in, with one hand — catching a flying ruffian mid-air and spinning him around like the world’s most buff pizza chef.

Now, replace those guys with Faysal Quraishi, with his wardrobe alternating between a police uniform and some stylish kurtas.

From what we can tell, this is a classic tale of a righteous hero fighting crime and taking names. Naturally, he also has a romantic side to him, brought out by Quraishi’s co-lead and the film’s producer Hareem Farooq.

She’s presumably how we get the film’s title too. In a scene, she looks at Quraishi’s lovestruck character and tells him his name should be “Mango Jutt”. When the blushing cop asks why, she replies, “Tu mittha vi ay, te sohna vi (You’re both sweet and pretty).”

Did we mention Quraishi tears some guy’s thumb off midway through the teaser? There are also a few dances peppered in to balance everything out.

While the teaser didn’t come with a release date, the video closed with the message, “Not just the mangoes, Jutt is coming too,” which leads us to believe they could be aiming for a summer release.

An earlier Instagram post from Shamoon Abbasi credited Abu Aleeha as the film’s director and said shooting had already wrapped up.
