In a post that has warmed our hearts, actors Saboor Ali and Ali Ansari have shared the most adorable pictures from their daughter Serena’s first birthday party.

The caption for the post, which was an eloquent message of love from two doting parents, said they took their time to post the pictures because they couldn’t decide whether they wanted to share their joy with the world or keep it tucked close to their hearts.

The couple said that, through Serena, they had discovered “a love so deep, so overwhelming, it changed us completely”. They said the joy of a full year of parenthood was too great not to share with everyone.

They said every moment of the past year was “magic”, “from learning your tiny cries to understanding your silent needs… from sleepless nights to the warmest cuddles,” adding that the transformation into parents was the most beautiful one of their entire lives.

“We still look at you and wonder how something so small can hold our entire world inside her little hands,” Ali and Ansari said about their daughter in the joint post.

They promised their daughter they would “always protect you, guide you, and stand by you no matter what”. The pair said they would “celebrate your wins, comfort you in your tears, and love you endlessly”.

While the message was emotional enough to make anyone shed a happy little tear, the pictures were even cuter. Mommy and her little girl were twinning in black and white polka-dot dresses while Ansari had the widest, proudest grin we’ve ever seen on his face.

The colour theme of the decor, which little Serena seemed very intrigued by, was different shades of pink. The guests included an assortment of plushies in birthday hats. Oh, and the cake looked like a cake, much to the little girl’s delight in one picture where she appears to be leaning in to try and smell the flowers.

All in all, we loved the post and wish the family the very best. Happy (belated) birthday, Serena!
