Actor Angeline Malik has shared a deeply personal tribute to the women who stood by her during one of the most difficult years of her life.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday evening, Malik posted a moving video montage filled with photographs of the women who supported her through her cancer journey. The clip opened with a stark admission written across the screen, “I never thought I had the strength to fight cancer.”
What follows is a slideshow of moments — hugs, smiles, companionship — a visual roll call of friends and loved ones who, Malik said, carried her through a year that tested her in ways she never expected.
Along with the video, she wrote a heartfelt caption reflecting on the emotional upheaval that came with her diagnosis and the strength she discovered in the women around her.
“You didn’t just stand by me… you carried me,” she began.
Malik described the past year as one that “changed everything,” writing that the illness stripped her down to moments of fear, uncertainty and exhaustion she didn’t know she could endure. Yet in the middle of that storm, she said, “something extraordinary happened, I discovered the incredible power of women”.
“These women you see here became part of my journey in ways big and small,” she wrote. “Some held my hand when I felt like I might break. Some called just when I needed to hear a familiar voice. Some sent prayers, strength, laughter, or simply a gesture or their quiet presence when words didn’t exist.”
For Malik, the experience turned into a reminder that resilience isn’t always solitary — sometimes it’s collective.
“Every single one of you reminded me that courage is contagious… that strength grows when it is shared,” she wrote.
The post also marked a personal milestone — exactly one year since her surgery. Reflecting on the process of putting the video together, Malik said it made her realise just how fortunate she has been to have such a support system.
“Despite everything, this has been an incredible year,” she wrote. “A year that showed me love, strength, sisterhood, and how deeply blessed I am to have all of you in my life.”
Ending her note with gratitude, Malik acknowledged that while cancer may have been her battle, it was never one she had to face alone.
“From the bottom of my heart, thank you for walking this journey with me.”
