Meesha Shafi has finally lifted the veil on her next musical release. The singer confirmed on Tuesday that Sachay Loki, her upcoming single out on Friday, is a collaboration with Indian singer-songwriter Talwiinder, ending more than a week of deliberate teasing and speculation on social media.
An Instagram post from the song’s cover shoot on December 8 asked fans to guess her collaborator — a Talwiinder track played in the background. A second post on December 14 revealed the song’s title and release date, with the featured artist’s name scribbled out, leaving only the letters “Ta”.
Now that the secret is finally out, anticipation is running high to see what the two artists have created together.
The cover art shows Shafi and Talwiinder standing back to back against the dramatic backdrop of a total solar eclipse. Shafi is dressed in a sparkly ensemble with a chain-based headpiece, while Talwiinder sports his signature face paint and bandana.
This isn’t the first cross-border collaboration for either artist. Shafi previously appeared in Bollywood, with a brief but notable acting stint that included a supporting role in the 2012 biopic Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. Talwiinder’s collaborations, meanwhile, have largely been musical — and particularly successful in Pakistan.
He teamed up with Hasan Raheem on ‘Wishes’, a breakout hit that ranked among Pakistan’s top 10 most-streamed songs in both 2024 (second place) and 2025 (fifth place). He also appeared alongside breakout artists Afusic and Ali Soomro on a rendition of ‘Pal Pal’, which became the country’s sixth most-streamed song on Spotify this year.
Shafi is also riding high on the success of her debut album, Khilnay Ko, released in May. The singer has set her sights on the Grammys, having submitted the album for consideration in three categories for the 2026 awards.
