Who doesn’t miss the gang at the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company? It’s been over 10 years since The Office ended and we can’t help but think about how Michael Scott and his team are doing. If you’re also a fan of the show, there’s some good news — the genre defining mockumentary is getting a spinoff starting with a four-episode release on September 4, followed by two episodes every Thursday on NBC’s Peacock platform throughout the month. The first trailer for the show released on Thursday.

The Paper, a mockumentary shot at the office of a fictional newspaper, aims to follow a style similar to its predecessor. The official logline for the series reads, “The documentary crew that immortalised Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch is in search of a new subject when they discover a historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to revive it.”

The show follows Ned Sampson (Domhnall Gleeson), the newly appointed editor in chief of the Toledo Truth-Teller. An idealist with a mission, Sampson has a rag-tag team of volunteer reporters at his disposal as he tries to bring a dying paper to life alongside his managing editor played by Sabrina Impacciatore. Oscar Nuñez, who played accountant Oscar Martinez on The Office, is reprising his role in the upcoming series.

The spinoff has the creators of The Office, Greg Daniels and Michael Koman as executive producers alongside Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, who created the original British version of the show.

A recap for the uninitiated: the American Office was set in Scranton, and followed the staff of paper company Dundler Mifflin. It starred Steve Carell, Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, Ed Helms, Mindy Kaling and BJ Novak, among others. The show has maintained its popularity long after leaving the airwaves and found new life when it became available to stream — first on Netflix and later on Peacock where it remains available.
