New study ranks Shah Rukh Khan among world’s 10 most handsome actors

Shah Rukh Khan, popularly known as the “King of Bollywood,” has long been celebrated for his charm and good looks. Now, science has backed this perception. A new study led by renowned celebrity plastic surgeon Dr Julian De Silva has ranked the superstar among the world’s top 10 most handsome male actors.

This study used the ‘Greek Golden Ratio of Beauty Phi,’ a mathematical formula historically applied in art and design to measure perfection and aesthetic appeal. Dr De Silva employed advanced face-mapping software to analyse the facial symmetry of various actors, examining how closely their features align with the Golden Ratio.

The 2024 list highlights that Khan is not just a heartthrob in India and Pakistan but globally one of the most attractive actors to exist. He’s also the only Indian actor featured in the top 10, with a facial symmetry score of 86.76 per cent, placing him in 10th position. No wonder he has a cross-generational appeal.

Several international stars joined SRK on the list. British actor Idris Elba claimed the ninth spot with a facial symmetry score of 87.94 pc, while Riverdale star Charles Melton landed in eighth with 88.46 pc. Nicholas Hoult, known for his role in The Great, secured seventh place with 89.84 pc symmetry.

Hollywood icon George Clooney just missed the top five, ranking sixth with a score of 89.9 pc. In fifth place was Jack Lowden, known for Dunkirk, who achieved a 90.33 pc symmetry score. The Batman actor Robert Pattinson followed closely in fourth with 92.15 pc.

Gladiator II star Paul Mescal earned the third spot, boasting a symmetry score of 92.38 pc. Meanwhile, British actor Lucien Leon Laviscount, known for his early work in Grange Hill, and later appearances in Coronation Street and Waterloo Road, secured second place with 92.41 pc.

The coveted first position went to Aaron Taylor-Johnson, whose facial symmetry score of 93.04 pc places him at the pinnacle of the list. Known for films like Kick-Ass and Bullet Train, Taylor-Johnson’s ranking, with his striking features, is no surprise.

Khan’s inclusion in such an exclusive list is yet another feather in his cap, reinforcing his status as an icon both in India and worldwide. With every accolade he earns, he continues to bridge cultures and win hearts across the globe.

We wonder, though, if Pakistani star Fawad Khan was even included in the sample because he would surely make the cut. Dr De Silva, we’re looking at you!
