Zayn Malik posts a rare and emotional tweet, says he ‘owes’ his life to his fans
British singer and former One Direction member Zayn Malik recently expressed gratitude to his fans in a rare post on Twitter. The ‘Dusk till Dawn’ singer, who is rarely in the public eye, thanked his supporters in what is just his second tweet this year.
Showing appreciation to people who have supported him through thick and thin during his 13-year career since he first debuted with the pop boy band in 2010, he said that he “owes” his life to his fans.
This is only the second time the ‘BeFoUr’ singer has tweeted this year. The tweet comes one month after he teased possible upcoming music with producer Daniel Zaidenstadt in a post on Instagram. His last album, Nobody Is Listening, was released in 2021.
Malik left the globally popular and successful boy group on March 25 in 2015 and began his solo music career with the hit song ‘PILLOWTALK’. He dated supermodel Gigi Hadid on and off four six years between 2015 and 2021 and they have a daughter named Khai together.
In late 2021, they called it quits “for good”. PEOPLE reported that according to multiple sources, the couple broke up after an argument the former One Direction member had with Gigi’s mother Yolanda Hadid. Other publications have published claims that Malik struck Yolanda.
Malik posted a lengthy note on his Twitter in which he asked for privacy at this time for both him and his daughter Khai. Gigi and Malik have zealously guarded their daughter’s privacy and have never posted a picture showing her face online.
The former partners are now reported to be on “amicable terms”, according to Us Weekly and now are are co-parenting their child.
Earlier this year in March, the 30-year-old singer was spotted at a dinner with American pop star and actor Selena Gomez, leading to fans speculating that the two are dating.
