Drama Sar-e-Rah started airing last month and managed to become a fan favourite within just four episodes. Sar-e-Rah is a drama that explores the lives of some marginalised groups in society — women and intersex people. Directed by Ahmed Bhatti, it stars Nabeel Zafar, Saba Qamar, Muneeb Ali, Saboor Ali and Sunita Marshal among others. The scene in question features Zafar playing the father who has a monologue in his head with God after a conversation with his son, praying he can be there every step of the way to protect him from this cruel world and support him in every way possible.
Such love and acceptance for intersex people is rarely scene on Pakistani TV screens, especially from on-screen fathers. The tearjerker moment has gained netizens’ respect.
The kind of father figure every child needs.
It was dealt with in the kindest way possible.
Understandable, tbh.
Netizens think designer Maria B, who had a problem with this scene in particular, is causing unnecessary hatred and leaving a dent on the progress that is being made here.
