Courteney Cox mocks Kanye West after he says Friends is ‘not funny’
American singer Kanye West (now known mononymously as Ye) and his Instagram account have been hotbeds for drama and a recently deleted post attacking celebrated US series Friends for not being “funny” has resulted in some more unneeded drama. In response, Courteney Cox, who played Monica Geller in the show, responded with a video dissing the singer with his song ‘Heartless’.
On Wednesday, the actor took to Instagram and shared a video of her turning off Ye’s song midway after reading what he wrote in his now deleted post. She clapped back at him and wrote, “I bet the old Kanye thought Friends was funny”.
Ye, 45, wrote a post about how most of his past tweets were not written by him and one of the tweets in question was about the show Friends not being funny. Though he claimed he never wrote it, he “wished” that he did.
The 58-year-old actor reacted to the post with Ye’s music playing in the background. Cox has 12 million followers on Instagram with whom she shared the video of her cutting his song off and walking away.
The following day, Ye deleted his Instagram posts and shared a photo of himself with his kids. He wrote, “some things are bigger than money my kids have no idea what daddy has gone through this past few days alone to secure the brand that will one day be handed down to them God Willing these future leaders will never back down be stolen from and forced to compromise who they are for the check.”
Ye has been using his Instagram account to comment about everything from his political stance to his family to his estranged wife Kim Kardashian and her ex-boyfriend Pete Davidson. He attacked his former mother-in-law Kris Jenner in another now deleted post and had written to his daughters, “don’t let Kris make you do playboy like she made Kylie and Kim do”. He had also claimed Hollywood was a “giant brothel” and that pornography destroyed his family. He said that while he deals with his addiction to pornography, he won’t let that happen to his daughters North and Chicago.
He also wrote about Travis Scott, Scott Disick and Tristan Thompson in since deleted posts, all three who have or are still dating Kardashian-Jenner sisters.
