Bollywood actor Sonam Kapoor and husband Anand Ahuja welcome a baby boy

Bollywood actor Sonam Kapoor and her husband Anand Ahuja have entered the folds of parenthood! Congratulations to the new parents — they’ve welcomed a baby boy!

On Saturday, the couple posted a blue note in a joint post on Instagram captioned, “On 20.08.2022, we welcomed our beautiful baby boy with bowed heads and open hearts.” Expressing gratitude, they wrote, “Thank you to all of the doctors, nurses, friends and family who have supported us on this journey. It’s only the beginning, but we know our lives are forever changed.”

The Khoobsurat actor tied the knot with her longtime beau in 2018 in the presence of family and friends. The ceremony took place in Mumbai. This past March, she announced that she is expecting her first child. “Four hands to raise you the very best we can. Two hearts that will beat in unison with yours, every step of the way. One family who will shower you with love and support. We can’t wait to welcome you,” the couple wrote in a joint post.

In an interview with Vogue India, the Raanjhanaa actor opened up about her pregnancy journey, sharing how the first few months were difficult because no one had prepared her for them. She talked about how she’s worked on having a healthy body image, as well as the new chapter in her life — motherhood. For the Neerja star, pregnancy brought a unique set of challenges.

“It’s been tough — nobody tells you how hard it is. Everybody tells you how wonderful it is,” said Kapoor. She also talked about how she’s staying healthy during her first pregnancy. “If you want to carry another life within you, you have to respect your own,” she said, referring to her eating and exercise habits.

The 36-year-old focuses more on keeping herself healthy rather achieving a certain body weight. “I’m not trying to be on some high protein diet to get to 15 per cent body fat. Crash dieting is just not sustainable,” she said, highlighting how she does a mix of yoga and weight training alongside fostering a healthy relationship with food.
