Fenty's Amina Muaddi shuts down rumours about A$AP Rocky cheating on Rihanna with her
Fenty shoe designer Amina Muaddi has broken her silence and slammed the claim that American rapper A$AP Rocky cheated on his girlfriend Rihanna — who is pregnant with his child — with her.
On April 14, social media users spiralled into a frenzy stormed Twitter all because of a baseless rumour that Rocky had cheated on Rihanna. The Barbadian singer started trending and the second woman was identified by Twitteratis as Muaddi.
Following the viral tweets, the shoe designer who has worked on the Fenty brand alongside the 'Diamonds' singer for the last few years decided to put a stop to the "fake gossip fabricated with such malicious intent." She said it was less for her own sake and more for the people she has a "great amount of respect for."
"I've always believed that an unfounded lie spread on social media doesn't deserve any response or clarification, especially one that is so vile," she wrote a note on her Instagram story on April 15. "I initially assumed that this fake gossip — fabricated with such malicious intent — would not be taken seriously. However, in the last 24 hours, I've been reminded that we live in a society that is so quick to speak on topics, regardless of factual basis and that nothing is off limits. Not even during what should be one of the most beautiful and celebrated times in one's life."
"Therefore I have to speak up as this is not only directed towards me, but is related to people I have a great amount of respect for," she wrote. "While Rih is continuing to live her serene, best dressed pregnancy life and I go back to my business — I wish everyone a beautiful Easter weekend."
Rihanna announced her pregnancy in January through a photoshoot in New York where she did a baby bump reveal wearing a long pink coat that was open at the waist and blue jeans. The bright pink colour was all over social media as the news spread like wildfire. The business mogul has since then redefined maternity outfits by adding some pizzazz to it — her Instagram feed is testament to that.
She and her boyfriend Rocky went public with their relationship in May 2021 after from years of friendship. Around the same time, the rapper gave an interview to GQ Magazine in which he called her “the love of my life".
The rumours broke out right after the 'Umbrella' singer landed herself on the cover of Vogue. "I love the simple things but also the grand adventures," she told the outlet of her relationship. "There's no pretentious my-brand-your-brand bulls**t, it's just us living. I just feel like I can do any part of life by his side."
