Shoaib Malik, Fahad Mustafa lend support to Sana Javed after accusations of bad behaviour
Several of actor Sana Javed's coworkers have posted on social media to stick up for her after models, stylists and makeup artists came forward with their "horrible" experiences of working with the actor. Javed had allegedly misbehaved with them on set or while getting her makeup done.
The actor was called out by model Manal Saleem who had taken the matter to Instagram and wrote, "Requesting all the clients to not ask me to shoot with any actress/celebrity ever again. With their self entitled attitudes they think we are 'do takay ki [two bit] models'. The audacity to say that on my face! Hum bhi kam krne atay hain, muft main zaleel honay nahi atay [We come here to work, not to be insulted for free]." She did not, however, name Javed in her post.
She received support from makeup artist Omayr Waqar and stylist Aneela Murtaza among other entertainment industry professionals while makeup artists Ikram Gohar and Rhyan Thomas also shared their experiences online. On March 10, Javed responded to the allegations with a legal notice posted on her Instagram account and called it a "proper smear campaign." Since then, members of the entertainment industry have been showing support for her.
Director Nadeem Baig wrote, "I have worked with Sana Javed in Pyarey Afzal and my experience was great and found her completely professional and later worked with her as an executive producer in Ruswai and the experience was great." He wished her all the best and said that he is "looking forward" to working with her again.
Actor Fahad Mustafa, who produced Javed's drama serial Dunk, also supported her and wrote, "I have worked with Sana Javed on various projects and she’s been a part of my show for the last 2 years & in these times I’ve found her extremely professional and humble not just with me but with my team too."
Actor Sadia Faisal, who worked with Javed on Paiwand, also took to Instagram and wrote, "I had the best time working with you [Javed]." She also shared some photos of them together.
Actor Angeline Malik also penned few words for Javed and said that if you have to call out an artist for misbehaviour or a bad attitude, why wait for others to make that call. She said that this is "being unfair on that one individual" and collective "bullying and mobbing" that just shows "how pathetic we are".
Cricketer Shoaib Malik also chimed in to lend support to Javed. "I have known Sana Javed for quite sometime now and have had the opportunity to work with her multiple times, from my personal experience I can only say that she has always been kind and courteous towards me and the people around us," Malik wrote on Twitter.
More claims of bad behaviour have since surfaced. Makeup artist Wajid Khan wrote that Javed "should focus more on her acting rather than playing games with people". Syed Hussain, who happens to be the MUA who was hired to style Saleem and Javed for the shoot mentioned in Saleem's original post, has corroborated the model's story.
