Saba Qamar, Ahsan Khan among stars sending thoughts and prayers after tragic Peshawar mosque blast
A suicide blast inside a Shia mosque shook Peshawar's Kocha Risaldar area on Friday, with hospital officials saying at least 56 bodies were brought to the Lady Reading Hospital. At least 194 people have been injured, according to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa minister Kamran Bangash. The incident shook many around Pakistan, including celebrities, who have been condemning the attack and requesting prayers for the affected families.
Actor Adnan Siddiqui took to Twitter and wrote, "Killing innocent people to claim supremacy. As if the world hasn’t seen enough because of Covid," and asked how much does "our Pakistan need to suffer".
Actor Ahsan Khan also posted about blast and called it a "heartbreaking incident".
"The images from Peshawar are sad. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims," actor Saba Qamar wrote on Twitter.
Minal Khan also shared the news by posting "Peshawar" on her Instagram stories followed by a heart-broken emoji.
Author Fatima Bhutto wrote, "The total cruelty of bringing violence to a house of worship and prayer is beyond words" and hoped that the injured are facilitated.
Actor Armeena Khan shared a verse from the Holy Quran and wrote, “Whoever kills an innocent person it is as if he has killed all of humanity." She also said her thoughts and prayers are with the victims.
Actor Ali Rehman Khan offered prayers for the families and wrote, "Let’s hope those responsible for such a cowardly attack are apprehended fast and brought to justice."
