Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni is walking off the cricket pitch and onto the battlefield in his graphic novel debut. He shared the first look of his avatar in Atharva: The Origin and it's a whole new look for the cricketer
According to The Tribune India, graphic novel Atharva: The Origin is written by Ramesh Thamilmani, while the series is produced by Vincent Adaikalaraj and Ashok Manor. The project is backed by Virzu Studios. It was created by a team of artists over several years to create the "mystical world of Atharva" found in the novel and features over 150 lifelike illustrations.
Dhoni revealed his avatar in a motion poster of the graphic novel on Facebook. "Happy to announce my new Avatar…..Atharva," he wrote.
The video shows a rugged long-haired Dhoni fighting some evil-looking creatures on a battlefield. It's a brand new look that had Indian netizens pretty excited on social media.
According to India Today, Atharva: The Origin was announced in 2020 as “an adaptation of an unpublished book". Dhoni's wife Sakshi spoke about the novel and said, "The book is a mythological sci-fi which explores the journey of a mysterious Aghori who has been captured at a high-tech facility.”
