Hira Mani calls on fans to mask up after announcing she tested positive for Covid

Covid is on the rise once again and people need to be careful. Actor Hira Mani just announced that she has tested positive for the virus, urging her fans to take precautions.

The Do Bol actor took to Instagram to announce the news. "So guys I am Covid positive! Dua ki darkhast hai! App sub bhe mask pehniye apne bachaon ka khayal rakhien SOP ZAROORI HAI [Prayers are requested! All of you please wear masks and take care of your kids, SOPs ARE IMPORTANT]."

After the actor asked fans to follow the steps to avoid contracting the virus, she added a playful line at the end saying, "P.s eik filmy tasweer tou bunti thi.... [P.S. this called for a filmy photo]."

Mani's followers flooded the comment section, wishing her well and hoping she'll recover soon.

It seems like the actor has been staying in and spending some quality time at home as she posted a picture with her son captioned, "Hot Coco, cuddles , Ibrahim & me."

In mid 2020, Mani had posted her views regarding self-isolating, saying Americans are "cowardly" for doing it and that "we're really cool" because Pakistanis kept going out despite the serious situation. Her comments received quite some backlash and it's good to see we've come a long way since then and Mani is promoting following SOPs.

Bushra Ansari also contracted the virus recently but is thankfully recovering. "Thank God I am recovering from [the Omicron variant quickly]," she wrote. [But I am terribly sad] to have missed my friend Rubina Ashraf s daughter's wedding. Allah Mina ko bohat khush rakhy [May Allah keep Mina happy].[I] didn't want to be a risk in [the] wedding for my friends."

Ansari urged everyone to take precautions against the coronavirus as well.

As of Tuesday, four cities in Pakistan have reported over 10 percent positivity of Covid-19 cases — Karachi reported a 30.83 percent positivity rate, Lahore 13.05 percent , Islamabad 10.75pc percent and Hyderabad 10.68 percent.

Pakistan reported 5,472 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, marking the highest daily caseload since August 4.

The NCOC strongly advises individuals to wear face masks in public places, practice social distancing and get vaccinated as well as follow other preventative measures in order to safeguard themselves against the coronavirus.
