Saba Qamar is working on a new project with her 'favourite co-star' Ahsan Khan
Ahsan Khan and Saba Qamar are a duo we didn't know we needed to see again until they decided to reunite on our screens and work on a project together after eight or nine years. The two seem like great friends who also happen to be each other's favourite co-stars and their chemistry was evident in the video Khan posted to announce the project.
A sun-kissed Ahsan and Qamar sat in front of a window to get that bomb lighting and film themselves talking to each other about the project.
The caption read, "With the gifted and accomplished super talented Saba Qamar Zaman." Ahsan added the hashtags 'new project coming soon' and the name of the production company 'IDream Entertainment.'
"Finally with my favourite, one and only," started Ahsan. Qamar was quick to respond with, "And he's my favourite, there's no room for doubt."
When asked how many years had it been since they'd worked together, Qamar said, "After eight, nine years." She waded through her memory and recalled that they also paired up for their first project ever starring in Dastaan (2010) and Pani Jaisa Piyar (2011). The last project they worked together on was a Zee5 film called Moomal Rano among a number other projects. It was released in 2017 which could mean they'd either filmed it much, much earlier than its release or maybe Qamar got the dates mixed up.
Ahsan enthusiastically agreed and the video was cut off before we could get any spoilers for the upcoming project.
Qamar affirmed that he was her favourite co-star by commenting it under the post and posting it on her Instagram Story.
Ayeza Khan also sent her love under the post to which Ahsan wished her a happy birthday — belated we're assuming.
We think they might be talking about their new drama Fraud, which is written by Zanjabeel Asim Shah. Ahsan had told Images earlier, "I’ve read the script I can tell you that both Saba and my characters are very strong. I’m looking forward to working with her because she’s a powerhouse and one of the best actors we have in Asia, I would say and Pakistan, of course."
Dastaan premiered in 2010 but was aired again more recently on Hum TV in 2019. One of our industry's most iconic dramas, Dastaan is set during the tumultuous time of Partition and tells the story of Hassan and Bano, torn apart by events far beyond their control. The sheer complexity and scale of such a project would daunt anyone but was skilfully handled by director Haissam Hussain.
The cast also included Fawad Khan, Sanam Baloch and Mehreen Raheal.
Pani Jaisa Piyar is yet another masterpiece by *Humsafar and Shehr-E-Zaat director Sarmad Khoosat. With a versatile cast featuring Mikaal Zulfiqar, Juggan Kazim, Samina Peerzada and Babrik Shah, along with Ahsan and Qamar, the show revolves around a headstrong girl and her two siblings. It is about Sana's (Qamar) journey as she navigates entangled love stories and destiny's plans.
