Accio teaser: The first look at the Harry Potter 20th anniversary special is finally out
HBO Max released a teaser for its upcoming Harry Potter 20th anniversary TV special, giving us our first glimpse at the reunion that will feature all our favourite witches and wizards from the magical world.
Harry Potter stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint are reuniting with other cast members from the blockbuster film franchise for a special 20th anniversary TV retrospective. The retrospective will see the cast return to the original Hogwarts boarding school sets that were featured in the first film Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Philosopher's Stone in the UK) released in November 2001.
HBO Max recently posted a teaser and gave fans (or Potterheads) their first look at the retrospective. "The invitation you've been waiting for has arrived," reads a line shown in the teaser.
The teaser features appearances from actors Robbie Coltrane, Matthew Lewis, and Mark Williams. Lewis played the much-loved Neville Longbottom in the movie franchise while Coltrane played Hagrid.
We might have spotted Emma Watson (who played Hermione Granger) making her way towards the Hogwarts Express as well.
Author of the Harry Potter book series JK Rowling will not be among those making a personal appearance on the show. Rowling's opinions on transgender issues in the last year have been a cause of controversy, with some in the LGBTQ community accusing her of transphobia.
The retrospective special will premiere on January 1.
