India's drug control authority arrives at Shah Rukh Khan's house after he visits son in jail
India’s Narcotics Control Bureau visited on Thursday the house of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan as part of its investigation into a drug use and possession case against his son, Aryan, Bollywood Masala reported.
Shah Rukh visited his 23-year-old son in jail for the first time since his October 3 arrest earlier in the day. His visit marked one of his first public appearances since Aryan’s arrest.
Aryan was taken into custody and later arrested on a cruise ship in Mumbai. NCB officials raided the party on the ship and took into their possession 13 grams of cocaine, five grams of MD, 21 grams of charas and 22 pills of MDMA, and 133,000 INR.
He has been presented in court several times since his arrest but has been denied bail each time. His last hearing was on Wednesday where he was also denied bail. His lawyers have approached the Bombay High Court to appeal the decision and the case has been set for October 26.
The bureau contends that while there no drugs found on Aryan, he may have played a part in procuring them in the past.
According to Bollywood Hungama, before arriving Shah Rukh's house — called Mannat — in Bandra, the NCB also conducted a raid at the home of actor Ananya Panday. She is the daughter of actor Chunky Pandey. The NCB has clarified that they arrived at the Khans' residence to pick up some documents, not conduct a raid, and left soon after their work was done.
