Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan denied bail in cruise ship drug case once again
A Mumbai court has rejected the bail plea of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan in a case relating to drugs on a cruise ship.
According to Times Of India, the bail plea has been rejected for Aryan as well as two others — Arbaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha. All three were arrested on October 3 on a cruise ship in Mumbai during a raid where 13 grams of cocaine, five grams of MD, 21 grams of charas and 22 pills of MDMA, and 133,000 INR was seized. However, none of the recovered narcotics were in Aryan’s possession.
The three men will now approach the Bombay High Court to appeal the decision.
Wednesday's hearing was held 17 days after Aryan was remanded into custody of the Narcotics Control Bureau on October 4. Many have expressed outrage at the outcome, including Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees director Rahul Dholakia.
The 23-year-old was initially taken into custody by the NCB for alleged possession of banned drugs and substance abuse on board a cruise ship in Mumbai and later arrested. He was remanded into NCB custody till October 7 and presented in court. He was presented in court again on October 8 and October 14, his bail plea being rejected both times.
He was previously being kept in a special isolation ward but was moved to regular barracks with other inmates after testing negative for Covid-19.
