Celebrities cheer Arshad Nadeem on as he qualifies as a finalist in the Tokyo Olympics

The entire nation is praising Arshad Nadeem after his tremendous achievement of making it through to the final of the men's javelin toss at the Tokyo Olympics. The athlete is that much closer to winning a medal for Pakistan and our celebrities are taking to social media to cheer Nadeem on.

The 24-year-old thrower from Mian Channu, Khanewal made it to the final with a throw of 85.16 metres, making him the first Pakistani to qualify for the final of any track and field event at the Olympics. He finished above Germany's Julian Weber and Czech Republic's Jakub Vadlejch to qualify for a place in the medal round.

Many celebrities took to social media to praise Nadeem's performance and show him support for the finals.

Fatima Bhutto

The Songs of Blood and Sword author shared the news of Nadeem qualifying for the men's javelin final on Instagram and said it was some "nice news" after a string of depressing stories.

Uzair Jaswal

The singer jubilantly told his followers to "show [Nadeem] some love and wish him the best of luck for the finals!"

Ali Zafar

The singer tweeted he's "rooting for Arshad Nadeem" and shared the athlete's score that secured him a place in the finals.

The Mere Paas Tum Ho actor said Nadeem's achievement was a "proud moment" for Pakistan and wished him the best for the upcoming final.

The model shared news of Nadeem qualifying to the final and posted a "clapping hands" emoji to praise the achievement.

Way to go Nadeem! The entire country is wishing him good luck for his final but even if he doesn't secure a medal, he has already made Pakistan very proud.
