Cricketer Ahmad Shahzad has been blessed with a daughter
Pakistani batsman Ahmad Shahzad has become a dad for the second time! He and his wife recently became parents to a baby girl.
He made the announcement on Twitter to his fans and followers' delight, and congratulations came flooding in.
Shahzad and his wife are already parents to a boy.
Among the many congratulations he received was one from Lala, who is himself a father of five daughters. "Lucky boy," he said.
Teammates Anwar Ali Khan, Muhammad Nawaz and Umar Amin also congratulated him on the heartwarming news.
From across the border, former Indian cricketer Rohan Gavaskar also sent his well wishes. "Blessings to the little one," he wrote.
Shahzad's PSL team, the Quetta Gladiators, congratulated him too.
Cricket statistician Mazher Abbas and journalist Ihtisham Ul Haq also sent in their kind words.
Senator Faisal Javed Khan sent prayers his way.
British-Pakistani businessman Frank Khalid, the owner of West London Film Studios and Chak89 in the UK, congratulated him too.
Recently, some other other cricketers have also embraced parenthood. Hassan Ali and Imad Wasim were both blessed with daughters earlier this year.
Shahzad has had a rocky but prominent cricket career and is a wellknown face in Pakistan. He is an aggressive opening batsman who, after making himself a firm part of Pakistan's U19 squad, made his ODI debut for the men's side in 2009 against Australia. In 2013, he became a Test-playing international cricketer, making his debut against Sri Lanka. He has since gone on to earn 13 Test caps, 81 ODI caps and 57 T20I appearances.
Shahzad won his first PSL in 2019, playing for the Quetta Gladiators.
