Ali Safina gets Covid-19 after a year and a half of 'dodging' it
Actor Ali Safina had a good run but after a year and a half of evading Covid, he finally contracted the virus.
The Khafa Khafa Zindagi star made the announcement via his Twitter account, noting his disappointment at the situation.
Covid cases in Pakistan are increasing at a worrying pace. On the day Safina made his announcement, the nation reported 5,292 new cases, and with the curve generally on a rising trend, the following day 5,480 cases were recorded. The country reported 201 and 150 deaths on those two days.
Pakistan hasn't been hit as hard as neighbouring India but that's no reason to take the pandemic lightly or to compromise on safety protocols.
We urge you to please be careful and follow the government-issued SOPs. We've almost made it, and though the finish line might still not be in sight, it is there.
Safina is on the small screen these days in HUM TV's Ramazan special Chupke Chupke. The comedy show is written by novelist Saima Akram Chaudhry and directed by Danish Nawaz. Safina came under fire for his character in the show, which led to him even responding to the hate.
He now has quite a bit of time to catch up on his Twitter beefs in quarantine. Rest up Safina, we wish you a speedy recovery.
