Celebrities remember coach Dean Jones on Karachi Kings' 'bittersweet' PSL victory

Amidst the celebrations as Karachi Kings were crowned Pakistan Super League 2020 champions, many remembered Dean Jones — the late coach whose contributions and hard work empowered the team towards their win.

Dean's commentary, wit and love for Pakistan had won many hearts instantly. And his loss was felt by the nation collectively.

Acknowledging the contributions of the Karachi Kings' late coach, captain Imad Wasim spoke fondly of him as thousands watching could feel the deep sentiments across their screens.

"Dean Jones, of course, gets credit because what he taught us, very few coaches in the world can," he declared, and seems like he wasn't the only one who was missing Dean.

Wasim Akram, too, remembered his buddy..

"You were meant to be here with us today but unfortunately life had other plans. I know nothing could keep you away from your boys and where ever you are, you will be watching and cheering us on. This one's for you," he said before the match.

Following the victory, the former cricketer deemed it bittersweet.

"In my career, the teams who played and sacrificed FOR each other, who were committed TO each other and believed whole-heartedly IN each other, were the only teams who truly succeeded! Dean Jones."

Shaniera Akram also echoed similar sentiments.

Man of the hour, star Babar Azam honoured his coach, sharing the sweetest picture.

"This is for you Deano," he posted.

Dean Jones is survived by his wife Jane, who personally congratulated the boys, thanking the entire nation for the love they extended to honour her husband.

"Congratulations Karachi Kings on a great win tonight!" she posted. "Deano would be so emotional and happy for his boys who have worked so hard under extreme circumstances," thanking the Akrams, Imad and all of Pakistan for their love and support.
