Review: Backrooms is what you get when the internet starts taking itself too seriously
The film is well-made but strays too far from the source material in its search for a deeper meaning.
Humanitarian, activist, singer and now actor - multitalented Shehzad Roy is all set to make his acting debut with famous 1965 sitcom Alif Noon's reboot.
The Mukhra vocalist took to social media to announce the news to his fans and followers, making sure to reveal only enough to get everyone on their toes.
"Lots of issues triggered the song Laga Reh," he recalled. "Now this video explains why we (Faisal Qureshi) are making the movie Alif Noon. I am so excited to act in it. This issue is still hot and relevant."
Knowing Roy, the remake will tackle social issues and witty commentary relevant to the need of the hour.
The original Alif Noon starred veteran actors Kamaal Ahmed Rizvi as Allan, and Rafi Khawar as Nanha in lead roles.
