Madonna is co-writing and directing her own biopic
Regarded as one of the most influential figures in pop-culture history, Madonna is finally getting the biopic she deserves, that too under her own watch.
In collaboration with Oscar-winning Juno screenwriter Diablo Cody and Universal producer Amy Pascal; the 62 year old superstar will co-write and direct her story; bringing on screen the brilliance behind her almost four-decade long music career.
“I want to convey the incredible journey that life has taken me on as an artist, a musician, a dancer – a human being, trying to make her way in this world,” Madonna said in a statement. “The focus of this film will always be music. Music has kept me going and art has kept me alive. There are so many untold and inspiring stories and who better to tell it than me."
Her entry will be corroborated by Universal Pictures - which previously angered the artist by snapping up an unofficial script based on her life.
The as-yet-untitled project will be Madonna's third project as director, the first two being 2008's Filth and Wisdom and 2011's WE, which was based around King Edward VIII's affair with Wallis Simpson.
