Bollywood extends support as CBI takes over Sushant Singh Rajput's case

Following the unfortunate demise of Sushant Singh Rajput and major upheaval surrounding his cause of death, the supreme court of India has allowed Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to probe into the case.

According to judge Hrishikesh Roy, the FIR registered by the Bihar Police on the complaint of Rajput’s father Krishna Kishore Singh, who has accused Rhea Chakraborty and six others of various offences including abetment of suicide, is correct and the reference to the CBI is lawful.

Based on the verdict, many from Bollywood appreciated the decision, hoping for justice to prevail.

"Last 2 months have been extremely restless with everything being so blurry. Supreme Court’s order to let the CBI investigate Sushant’s case is a ray of hope that the truth will finally shine," said Kriti Sanon, Singh's ex Raabta costar.

Shuddh Desi Romance actor Parineeti Chopra too, thought this was a "positive step" and requested the public to avoid speculating on their own. "Please respect this moment," she pleaded.

Other industry names such as Akshay Kumar, and Shekhar Suman also spoke in favour of the decision made.

"It’s been June 14 since I have been raising my voice,” said Suman, who has tirelessly been supporting Singh's family in their fight for justice.

"I went to Bihar to meet his family, and people joined and it became a huge worldwide movement. I think this is victory of democracy, truth and hope of billions of people, and especially youngsters who were continually at it and gave me a lot of support. Together all of us were able to achieve this. It's a historical verdict and day.”
