Why was Ali Rehman Khan yelling at a McDonald's employee?

A leaked video circulating on social media shows actor Ali Rehman lose his cool at a McDonald's employee and... it's bad.

The irate actor was recorded shouting at a McDonald's employee, complete with tacky lines like, "Aapko pata hai main kaun hoon? Aapne kabhi mujhe TV pe dekha hai? Aap employee hain, aapka kaam hai meri baat maanna." ("Do you know who I am? Have you ever seen me on TV? You are an employee, your job is to do as I say.")

In response, the McDonald's employee says, "Please sir, don't be angry with us. You're absolutely right. I was just joking."

Despite the unnamed employee's repeated apologies and attempts to deescalate the situation, Ali seemed to only pause once he realised he was being recorded by a member of the public.

It's unknown when and where the incident occurred, or where the video originated. It appears to be a McDonald's located in DHA Phase 1, Karachi.

There may be more to the story though. With various bloggers sharing the video with the hashtag #AliRehmanLeakedVideo and saying we must wait for the full story to come out before bashing someone, it's possible this video could be orchestrated to prove a point or make some commentary on cancel culture or clickbait:

Even if the video does depict a staged stunt, it's difficult to imagine what the teachable moment is here. Doesn't seem like a very smart marketing tactic. Let's wait to see how this turns out.
