Dostana 2 is finally happening and it's for real this time

Remember the last time it was announced that Dostana 2 is happening but Karan Johar denied it? And the time before that?

Well, it looks like it is finally happening and this it it's for realsies as Karan Johar made the announcement himself.

KJo will not be directing the film as he has Collin DCunha making his directorial debut. He will however, be producing the movie which will be made under Dharma productions.

The cast so far has Aaryan Kartik and Janhvi Kapoor on board. The team is looking for a fresh face for their third character so we will have to wait and see about who is making their debut with Dostana 2.

Said Karan Johar, "I am excited to take the franchise forward with Kartik and Janhvi! This is our first film at Dharma with Kartik and we are very excited to work with him. I can’t wait to create some desi boy and girl madness with Kartik and Janhvi. We will also be introducing a new male lead in this film and Collin makes his debut as director with Dostana 2."

"Dostana will always be a special title and film to all of us at Dharma. We released the first film of our company with this title in 1980, (starring Amitabh Bachchan, Shatrughan Sinha, Zeenat Aman) and exactly 40 years later, we bring to you the second part of our fun franchise with the same title in 2020.”

He added, “The 2008 released rom-com with a fun twist received a lot of love, initiated many discussions and some disagreements as well. But no one can deny that it started a dialogue about an extremely important topic. With Dostana 2, we definitely have an entertainer planned but amongst all the fun and games, there will be a strong message and hopefully many positive discussions to follow."
