Laal Kabootar is headed to Australia

Laal Kabootar was loved by critics and viewers in Pakistan but will Australians love it as much as we did?

We're guessing they will. The crime thriller is releasing in the land Down Under today in select cinemas:

“BIG NEWS! Delighted to announce that our film will be screening in Australia from the 16th of May. Don’t miss this chance to catch Pakistan’s most critically acclaimed film release of the year!” read the caption on the post from Laal Kabootar's official account.

Laal Kabootar is the story of Aliya Malik (Mansha Pasha) and her journalist husband Noman Malik (Ali Kazmi). After Noman is killed in broad daylight on a busy Karachi street by gunmen in what Aliya is convinced is a target killing, she devotes most of her energy to finding his murderer. She hounds the police, where she crosses paths with hulking, corrupt and utterly unhelpful Inspector Ibrahim (Rashid Farooqi).

Meanwhile, Adeel (Ahmed Ali Akbar) tends to his aging father, drives a little red cab to make ends meet, commits petty theft and dreams of saving enough money to escape to the promised land: Dubai. Aliya and Adeel's individual scheming and planning throws them together unexpectedly. Watch the movie to find out what happens.
