Humayun Saeed speaks out in support of the LSAs amidst nomination controversy

Humayun Saeed is the latest actor to have spoken up about the Lux Style Award nomination controversy.

The award show came under fire when several nominees withdrew their names in protest of the nomination of an artist accused of sexual harassment.

The Punjab Nahi Jaungi star took to Instagram to give his two cents on the matter:

In his statement, he said, "The Lux Style Awards have been recognising a diverse range of artists for nearly two decades. Any dispute regarding nominations shouldn’t take away from the fact that it’s the country’s only platform to have managed to acknowledge so many incredibly talented Pakistanis for such a long time thereby making it imperative that it continues to do so in the future as well."

A total of seven nominees have pulled out from the LSA race this year; the nominees who have requested to be removed include model Eman Suleman, clothing brand Generation, makeup artist Saima Bargfrede, singer Meesha Shafi, folk rock band The Sketches, makeup artist Fatima Nasir and model Rubbab Ali.
