Chris Evans hangs up Captain America shield with a heartwarming note

Chris Evans has finished shooting for the fourth Avengers and you know what that means.

The actor has officially exited his role as Steve Rogers after 8 years and yes, we'll give you a moment to recollect your emotions.

Wrapping up his shoot, Evans took to social media to offer some parting words.

Said Evans in his post, "Officially wrapped on Avengers 4. It was an emotional day to say the least. Playing this role over the last 8 years has been an honor. To everyone in front of the camera, behind the camera, and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful."

While the MCU movies may have mixed reviews among Marvel fans, there's no denying that Chris Evans won the hearts of many with his performance. In the ten years that the cinematic universe has expanded, Evans grew as the character and made us wish Civil War was done right so we could see him bring out the best of Cap.

In Civil War the comic books, Captain America is killed. We don't know what to expect but we are wondering if Chris Evans will exit with a... bang? One things for sure, there will be tears.

But right now we really hope the bromance between him and Robert Downey Jr. never ends.

The untitled movie, fondly known as Avengers 4, will release in 2019.
