Kumail Nanjiani set to star in Men in Black spin-off

Kumail Nanjiani is going to be a man in black.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the actor has been added to Sony's ensemble cast for the Men in Black spin-off along with Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom villain Rafe Spall. The spin-off already includes Liam Neeson, Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson.

While so far it has been said that original Men in Black duo Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones will not be appearing in the film, the spin-off will take place in the same universe, expanding on the world of the original trilogy. The film will also be more focused on the ensemble characters rather than a duo.

The film, helmed by Straight Outta Compton director F. Gary Gray, is being written by Iron Man writers Matt Holloway and Art Marcum.

Not many details have been released about the Men in Black spin-off but the studio has given a tentative release date of June 14, 2019.
