Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham is getting a TV remake

Poo is coming to the small screen. Yes. You heard us right.

Mumbai Mirror reported that Ekta Kapoor is making a TV adaptation of Karan Johar's hit film Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham.

Last month she tweeted about working on a "family soap after years" and if the Indian publication is to be believed then K3G is probably it.

The 2001 family drama features Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Jaya Bachchan, and so far only two actors have been finalised for the TV adaptation.

"Bijoy Anand, who played Kajol’s wayward fiancé in the 1998 romcom Pyaar Toh Hona Hi Tha, has been cast to play Amitabh Bachchan’s patriarch, Yashvardhan Raichand, while Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi actress Erica Fernandes is in talks to play either Kajol’s talkative Anjali or her younger sister, Pooja (popularised by Kareena as ‘Poo’). The part will be finalised after a look test," a source told the MM.

Rumour has it that Jodha Akbar (TV show) actor Rajat Tokas has been approached to play SRK's role, while Rahul Raichand and Varun Sood have been shortlisted for Hrithik Roshan's part.

The show is titled Dil Hi Toh Hai and will reportedly go on air in two months' time.
