This British singer's street performance of Dama Dam Mast Qalandar has gone viral

Tanya Wells' love for qawwalis has taken her to the streets.

This time, while the British singer was in Dubai, she went for a more informal setting and sang the famous 'Dama Dam Mast Qalandar' on the sidewalk with her twin sister and fellow artiste Nicki Well-Turya. With just a guitar in hand, the man played the tunes while Tanya and Nicki sang out loud and might we add, they were awesome - as always.

Talking about the experience on Facebook, Tanya said, "We stopped on the street in Dubai to make a few people smile by playing their music. Had no idea that a week later this video would be shared to me with an insane amount of views. The crazy world of the internet!!"

Tanya Wells shot to fame by posting videos of her singing famous ghazals and film songs on social media. In an earlier interview she said she had grown up listening to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and was also learning Urdu. The British singer has come to Pakistan several times to perform renditions of her favourite ghazals.

She has learned quite a bit about classical and Sufi music as she had a keen interest in the kind of music which "creates a lot of joy."

Her favourite Pakistani singer though is "Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan because he is the king of qawwali."
