Seeing the pain of the Palestinian people makes me cry: Bella Hadid

Bella Hadid has spoken up against the injustice towards Palestinians and she's heartbroken.

In an Instagram post, the model shared, "Watching the news and seeing the pain of the Palestinian people makes me cry for the many many generations of Palestine."

Bella is referring to Trump’s recent decision to declare Jerusalem the capital of Israel. “I have determined that it is time to officially recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel,” the US leader said in a speech from the White House. “It’s the right thing to do.”

Bella, whose paternal side happens to be Palestinian, expressed grief at having to witness her father and his side’s family’s distress at the news. “Seeing the sadness of my father, cousin’s, and Palestinian family that are feeling for our Palestinian ancestors makes this even harder to write.”

“For this to happen, I feel, makes us take five steps back making it harder to live in a world of peace,” she wrote.

She has taken a clear stance on the matter and said, “The treatment of the Palestinian people is unfair, one-sided and should not be tolerated. I stand with Palestine.”

The model is deeply unsettled by Trump’s decision, calling it a “violation of international law.”

Her fans lauded her efforts and wrote she has a “heart of gold”.
